I've been monitoring the traffic for my other server that is located somewhere else..

There is some strange traffic which seems somehow realted to the network.
quite regulary the are 11bits send or recieved from/to 145.145.22.190, which resolved to GE3-1-0.1672.JNR01.Asd002A.surf.net

the isp is also surfnet...
I'm wondering if this is some dns request or something else. google has nothing to tell about this ip...

scanning with iftop is quite nice, although it does not display a port for that ip, all other entries do have ports, meaning this is some strange traffic.
Sinse this traffic seems to come from eth4 it means the octadisp server(school project) is to blame, running ubuntu..

i'll investigate further

I tried to install some nice statistics to follow the traffic on my site.

Which to choose.. Analog, Webalizer,AWStats.. or even the php based BBClone.

Sinse bbclone only load the server on every request it doesn't seem a smart solution for a simple setup.. although it has real-time stats.

Analog and Webalizer are nice.. but it's not everything..

AWStats was picked. downloaded it from there site and uploaded it to my guruplug. Sinse it uses Perl, I had to set the permissions correct and change the lighttpd config (cgi.assign) and it al started working.
After some hassle with the config files I managed to get it working propperly.. it helps to set the path correctly..

Today i moved my domain to my guruplug. Yeah!

This site is served from it. Okay it's not fast.. the guruplug has a Marvell 1GHz proccessor but it works. It has around 1200 bogomips and my other 1GHz PIII has 2000.

Running lighthttpd to not load te plug to much.

The intention is to make this blog a usefull resource for others..explaining mostly linux related prpojects
